Cosa fa

Il lavoro di Silvia Zacchello si basa sull’arte del riciclo e del recupero di mobili e arredamento vintage, in particolare sedie.
Dopo un primo restauro le sedie vengono interamente dipinte, con motivi e temi ispirati alla Pop Art, al fumetto e alla grafica vintage: diventano così vivaci sedie colorate, sedie che richiamano un arredamento che sa di “Pop Art”, un arredamento vintage, un arredamento che lascia spazio ad un design dal sapore nostalgico ma attuale.
L’arte del riciclo rivaluta così i mobili vintage: vecchie sedie o vecchi complementi d’arredo quali tavoli, telefoni, scrivanie e altro ancora, riempiono un arredamento come pezzi di design unici e curiosi.
Tutti gli oggetti sono dipinti a mano con colori acrilici, sopra i quali viene applicata una vernice lucida per parquet, che rende tali oggetti fruibili quotidianamente.

Biografia

Silvia Zacchello nasce a Mestre nel 1976, in pieno clima di austerity economica, tra rivendicazioni femministe, golpe e cadute di regimi.
Bambina tranquilla e osservatrice ammirata del suo tempo, affascinata da supereroi del calibro di Superman e Wonder Woman e aspirante ai loro superpoteri, influenzata dal messaggio ecologista ed egualitario dei Barbapapà, cullata dalla nascente disco music, iniziata dalla sua famiglia al fascino dei viaggi avventurosi, a bordo di una Fiat 128 3P arancione, comincia fin da piccola a coltivare il sogno di un mondo tutto colorato, possibilmente popolato di supereroi.
Frequenta il Liceo Artistico e l’Accademia di Belle Arti a Venezia.
Si cimenta con un bel po’ di occupazioni finché una vecchia sedia trovata in casa la riporta alle sue aspirazioni infantili: comincia così a recuperare e a dipingere sedie, tavoli, mobili, telefoni e altro ancora, nell’ottica supereroica di salvarli da morte certa e ridare loro nuova, avventurosa e colorata vita.
Dà origine così ad una sorta di arredamento vintage basato sull’arte del riciclo, un arredamento pop apprezzato dai migliori supereroi.

Work

Silvia Zacchello’s work is based on the art of recycling and restoring furniture and vintage objects, particularly chairs.
After an initial repairing, the chairs are entirely painted, with motifs and themes inspired by Pop Art, comics and vintage graphics: the chairs become colorfully lively, chairs that recall interior design with a “Pop Art” feel, vintage design,  furniture giving space to design with flair that is nostalgic but present.
The art of recycling reconsiders vintage furniture this way: old chairs or old pieces of furniture such as tables, telephones, desks and even more, fill interiors as unique and curious design pieces.  All the objects are hand-painted with acrylics, which are then covered with a shiny clearparquet varnish, making such objects usable daily.

Profile

Silvia Zacchello was born in Mestre in 1976, in the height of economic austerity, during feminist demonstrations, blight and fall of regimes.
As a young girl, she was tranquil and observed with admiration her times: fascinated by super-heroes doting caliber such as Superman and Wonder Woman,  she aspired to have their super powers while being influenced by Barbapapa’s environmental and equalitarian message and growing up with new disco music, as well as being introduced to a love for adventurous travel by her family on board an orange Fiat 128 3P, and beginning at an early age to cultivate a dream of an absolutely colorful world, conceivably inhabited by super-heroes.
After attending the Artistic High School and the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, she engaged herself with quite a few jobs until an old chair found in her house brings her back to her childhood aspirations: so she embarks upon restoring and painting chairs, tables, furniture, telephones and even more, with the vision of superheroes to save these objects from their doom to death and to bring them to adventurous, new and colorful life again.  Arising from these origins of a sort of vintage furniture based on the art of recycling, such pop furniture is appreciated by the best of superheroes.

Location

Silvia Zacchello currently lives and paints in the chaotic city of Mestre, in an apartment that she loves to continuously make more colorful.
