Un nuovo marchio

Opacmare, azienda produttrice di accessori e componenti in acciaio e alluminio per yacht e superyacht, si è presentata agli appuntamenti autunnali della nautica 2010 con un nuovo marchio – home design – dedicato ad arredi per esterni e interni che sposano sia le aspettative del mondo nautico che quelle della ricettività alberghiera o della casa privata.

La linea home design, nata per completare l’offerta di accessori e componenti per yacht, si sta trasformando in una vera e propria collezione di elementi d’arredo perfetti per le barche ma anche per gli ambienti interni ed esterni di case private e luoghi pubblici come bar, ristoranti, hotel e discoteche.

Sono già due le linee di arredi presentate in anteprima al Salone di Cannes: Ice Island e Africa, ambedue ideate e progettate da Sandrine Thibaud -AD e moglie di Roberto Sacco- e Michele Grimaldi -designer e socio storico- che ha saputo guidare l’équipe tecnica interna nello sviluppo definitivo di ogni elemento. Tavoli da pranzo, tavolini caffè e cocktail, sedie, sgabelli, isole bar e isole reception: un grande successo riscosso tra i designer e i progettisti d’interni che ha stimolato ancora di più lo spirito creativo di Thibaud e Grimaldi che presenteranno al salone di Genova altre opzioni e di utilizzo di questi arredi eleganti, pratici e di design e nuove proposte di design.

La scelta di Opacmare di cimentarsi in un nuovo filone di lavorazione dell’acciaio è la conferma che una crisi economica come quella di quest’ultimo anno la si può solo annullare investendo in ricerca e progettazione, in creatività, diversificazione e in coraggio di osare ed esplorare nuove opportunità di mercato.

Opacmare Spa, fondata nel 1995, è una dinamica azienda torinese che progetta, sviluppa e produce componenti ed accessori di serie e personalizzati in acciaio e alluminio per la nautica da diporto: passerelle, gruette, scalette bagno e scale reali, piattaforme idrauliche di poppa, porte e finestre, sedili guida.

E’ una realtà industriale con 290 dipendenti, tre siti produttivi in Italia, uno in Canada e tre filiali all’estero. La sede è a Rivalta (To), mentre a Vigone (To) vengono effettuate tutte le lavorazioni meccaniche e a Castelmarte, vicino a Erba, si effettuano lavori di saldatura e lucidatura.

Le tre filiali estere – Inghilterra (assistenza), Stati Uniti (commerciale) e Canada (commerciale e produttivo), e una rete di concessionari e di centri d’assistenza in oltre 30 nazioni, consolidano la sua posizione di produttore di accessori nautici più innovativi al mondo.

Nel 2009 il Gruppo, per affrontare la forte contrazione del mercato nautico globale, ha attuato una strategia di consolidamento e riorganizzazione che ha visto lo snellimento di alcune strutture interne, l’accorpamento di tre realtà manifatturiere in precedenza compartecipate e la diversificazione della produzione con l’ingresso in un nuovo segmento di mercato per arredi interni ed esterni. Il fatturato previsto per il 2010 è di 23 milioni di euro (+10% sul 2009)

Collezione Ice Island

Praticità, versatilità, funzionalità ed eleganza sono i tratti distintivi della collezione Ice Island. Prima collezione di home design che prevede tavolini tondi, sedie e sgabelli in acciaio e plexiglass, declinati in altezze diverse per soddisfare le esigenze dei vari ambienti a cui sono destinati e corredati da molti accessori. Accessori che permettono un “trasformismo” degno di Brachetti: tavolini e sgabelli pensati per il flybridge, il pozzetto e la dinette delle barche, per i salotti, le terrazze, i giardini e bordo piscine di hotel, case private ma anche perfetti per discoteche e déhors di bar e ristoranti.

l’idea e il progetto

L’idea creativa di Sandrine Thibaud era di progettare un tavolo che risolvesse alcuni “problemi pratici” di vita a bordo su uno yacht, consapevolezza derivante dall’aver verificato personalmente quanto sia difficile tenere in fresco e soprattutto in sicurezza bottiglie e bicchieri!

Il progetto Ice Island, protetto da quattro brevetti, ha dato vita ad un elegante e pratico tavolino da cocktail che permette di avere bottiglie sempre fresche a portata di mano, di poter appoggiare il bicchiere senza rischio che cada e di offrire una collocazione sicura per la borsetta delle signore.

In navigazione o fermi in rada sarà più facile conversare con ospiti e amici, organizzare aperitivi e spuntini offrendo loro bibite sempre fresche, senza il rischio di “scambiare” i bicchieri o di doverli “rincorrere”.

La base dei tavolini è infatti dotata di asole di fissaggio a pavimento, il ripiano in plexiglass è stato intagliato per ricavare 6/8 fori aperti da un lato che sostengono bicchieri a calice dalle forme più diverse; ogni foro è personalizzato da un piccolo intaglio “segnaposto” che permetterà di riconoscere il proprio bicchiere.

Al centro del top, è stata ricavata una glacette a doppio comparto per bottiglie: un contenitore termico in plexiglass dentro il quale inserire il secchiello portaghiaccio; la camera d’aria che si forma tra i due contenitori permette di conservare il ghiaccio più a lungo ed evita l’antipatico sgocciolamento della condensa. Quando non serve utilizzare la glacette, il foro centrale (Ø 28 cm) si trasforma in un comodo porta vaso per piante o fiori recisi oppure può essere chiuso da un tappo in plexiglass che livella il top. Il particolare design della piantana ricorda la forma di un corallo, ai rami del quale è possibile “appendere” la borsetta: una geniale soluzione per ospiti in barca ma anche per locali pubblici molto affollati.

La struttura

I tavolini hanno una piantana centrale in acciaio inox lucido che può essere innestata su base conica con asole di fissaggio a pavimento oppure in un bicchiere di fissaggio inserito a filo del paiolato; il top del tavolino può avere forme e dimensioni diverse: tondo (Ø 60 - 80 - 110cm) o ad ellisse ed è in plexiglass trasparente antigraffio spesso 15 mm.

Le opzioni

Tavolini, tavoli, sedie e sgabelli hanno una struttura in acciaio inox e top in plexiglas o in cristallo, ma le possibilità di personalizzazione sono infinite, nei materiali e nelle dimensioni.

I tavolini sono declinabili in 3 diverse altezze (60-75 e 110 cm), basi e piantane possono essere in acciaio satinato, cromato, ramato, verniciato, così come i top possono essere richiesti in alluminio verniciato, cristallo trasparente, mattato o serigrafato.

Tutti i tavolini (basso, medio, alto) possono essere forniti di piani aggiuntivi più grandi –rotondi (Ø 70 e 90 cm), ovali (90 e 110 cm), quadrati (70 e 90 cm)- che si appoggiano sul top intagliato autobloccandosi: il tavolino cocktail diventa quindi un tavolo pranzo per tre o quattro persone. I tavolini alti possono, a richiesta, essere dotati di comodi poggiapiedi.

Barre di collegamento in acciaio con cassettini a vista e piani aggiuntivi sagomati permettono di creare coreografiche isole bar modulari particolarmente adatte per i déhors di bar e ristoranti e per le discoteche.

Tutti i tavolini sono corredati di sgabelli bassi o alti (45-75 cm) con piantana in acciaio inox e seduta imbottita in pelle, ecopelle o alcantara a seconda delle preferenze cromatiche e di stile del cliente.

Collezione Africa

Tavolo Tigre

Pranzare con una tigre accovacciata ai piedi potrebbe essere inquietante ma il Tavolo Tigre della nuova collezione home design di Opacmare vi permetterà di farlo in assoluta tranquillità.

La spettacolare base in acciaio del tavolo riproduce infatti il muso di una tigre ruggente ed è ricavato da quattro lastre incrociate e intagliate: il disegno è perfettamente speculare e visibile da tutte le angolature ed esalta il piano ovale in cristallo trasparente attorno al quale possono sedersi sino a 10 ospiti.

Il Tavolo Tigre è il primo pezzo della collezione Africa che racconta l’attrazione di Sandrine Thibaud per il continente africano: a questo seguirà il Tavolo Baobab, con base che riprende l’intreccio dei rami e la maestosità di questi alberi centenari tipici delle savane, e il Tavolo Madre Africa, con base raffigurante un intenso volto femminile.

E’ un tavolo importante, per grandi ambienti, maestoso e prezioso. Una grande lastra ovale di cristallo dello spessore di 10 mm poggia su quattro lastre d’acciaio da 10 mm incrociate e intagliate a formare il disegno di una tigre.

Il top di cristallo ha due o tre fori (Ø 28 cm) lungo il diametro dell’ellisse, i due laterali sono per i contenitori termici, quello centrale può contenere fiori o semplicemente diventare una figura decorativa del top. Nelle glacette trovano posto bottiglie di acqua e vino, sono a doppio spessore, un contenitore termico in plexiglass accoglie il secchiello portaghiaccio dotato di manico; la camera d’aria che si forma tra i due contenitori permette di conservare i cubetti di ghiaccio più a lungo ed evita l’antipatico sgocciolamento della condensa.

A questo tavolo possono essere accostate sedie in acciaio con imbottiture in pelle, similpelle, alcantara o tessuti stampati zebrati dal design molto moderno.

A new brand

Opacmare, producers of accessories and components in steel and aluminium for yachts and superyachts, is presented at this year’s autumn boat shows an all new brand - home design – dedicated to interior and exterior furnishings that meet with the expectations of not only the boating world but also that of hotel facilities and private homes.

The home design line, created to complement Opacmare’s range of accessories and components for yachts, is rapidly becoming a veritable collection of interior and exterior furnishings perfect not only for yachts but also for private homes and public establishments such as bars, restaurants, hotels and discotheques.

Two furnishing lines have already been debuted at the Cannes Boat Show: Ice Island and Africa -both conceived and designed by Sandrine Thibaud, CEO and Roberto Sacco’s wife, together with Michele Grimaldi – designer and long-time partner – who skilfully guided Opacmare’s technical team throughout the development of each and every element.

Dining tables, coffee and cocktail tables, seats, stools, bar and reception isles: the phenomenal success enjoyed by Opacmare’s designers and project managers further stimulated Thibaud and Grimaldi’s creative spirit, who will be presenting more novelties and optional uses for these elegant, practical designer furnishings at the Genoa Boat Show.

Opacmare’s decision to venture into a new area of stainless steel processing is on-going proof that an economic crisis like the one encountered during the past year can only be counteracted by investing in research and design, creativity, diversification and the courage to explore new market opportunities. 

Opacmare Spa, founded in 1995, is a dynamic Turin-based company that develops and manufactures series and custom components and accessories in aluminium and steel for the marine industry: gangways, cranes, beach ladders, king stepladders, hydraulic platforms, doors, windows and pilot seats.

The company has a 290 strong workforce, three production sites in Italy, one in Canada and three overseas branches: The Head Office is located in Rivalta (Turin), while in Vigone, a few kilometres away, all mechanical works are performed.

All welding and polishing is performed at the site in Castelmarte, near Erba. The three overseas branches – England (assistance), the United States (sales) and Canada (sales and production) plus a network of dealers and service centres in over 30 countries, consolidate the company’s position as the world’s most innovative producer of marine accessories.

In 2009 the Group, in an effort to countervail diminishing global market demands in the marine industry, implemented consolidation and reorganization strategies including the streamlining of a number of internal departments, the full incorporation of three manufacturing plants, previously sharing plan companies and the entry into a new segment to diversify production

The expected turnover for 2010 is 23 million euro (+10% over 2009)

Ice Island Collection

Practical, versatile, elegant and functional – all distinctive traits regarding the Ice Island collection.

The first collection from Opacmare home design includes round tables, chairs and stools in stainless steel and Plexiglas. All ranging in height to meet with the needs of the various environments for which they are destined, complete with a full array of accessories.

Accessories allowing transformations worthy of Arturo Brachetti: tables and stools designed for the flybridge, cockpit and dinette on a boat, lounges, terraces, gardens and pool sides of private homes as well as discothèques, and the déhors of bars and restaurants.

Idea and design

The creative idea, conceived by Sandrine Thibaud, was to create a table that would resolve a number of ‘practical problems’ regarding life aboard a yacht, conscious of how difficult it is to keep cool, and above all secure, bottles and glasses!

The Ice Island project, protected by four patents, has given life to a designer table offering the possibility of having a bottle on ice readily to hand, somewhere to place a glass without worrying that it will fall together with a safe place for ladies to hang their handbags

Whether at sea or anchored in port, chatting with friends while offering appetizers and drinks cooled to perfection, without worrying about swapping or sliding glasses, couldn’t be easier.

The base of the table is equipped with floor fixing hooks while the Plexiglas table top has been carved to securely accommodate eight or more chalices of various forms, each inscribed with a different symbol making it easy for guests to identify which is theirs.

Space for a double walled glacette bottle cooler has been incorporated in the centre of the table.  The air chamber formed between the Plexiglas container and the ice bucket allows the ice to be conserved for much longer and avoids any annoying drips caused by the condensation.

When the glacette is not needed the hole in the centre (Ø 28 cm) can be used to accommodate a plant or vase of flowers or simply closed with a lid that lies perfectly flat with the table. The particular design of the table stand resembles that of a coral reef whose branches provide an ingenious secure hold for a lady’s handbag – an ideal solution for both guests on a boat and also very handy in crowded public places.

The composition

The tables have a central stand in polished stainless steel which can be coupled to a conical base complete with eyelets or a serrated fixing cup.

Table tops are available in various shapes and sizes: round (Ø 60 - 80 - 110cm) or oval in transparent anti-scratch 15mm Plexiglas.

Options

Tables, coffee tables, chairs and stools are all in stainless steel with tops in either Plexiglas or glass though an infinite number of custom materials and sizes are also possible.

The tables are available in three different heights (60, 75 and 110 cm). Bases and stands can be in brushed stainless steel, chrome plated steel, copper covered steel or lacquered to customer requirements. Tops may be requested in aluminium, polished or lacquered stainless steel, transparent, opaque or silk screened glass.

All tables (low, medium, high) may also be supplied with additional larger tops - round (Ø 70 and 90 cm), oval (90 and 110 cm), and square (70 and 90 cm) that securely lock on to purpose made grooves on the main table. The cocktail table can therefore be transformed into a dining table accommodating three or four people. High tables may also be fitted with footrests upon request.

Steel plates, carved as per the theme of the table stand, and additional shaped to fit perfectly tops can link an infinite number of tables, complete with matching open view free standing  serving table, to create modular choreographic islands particularly suited to restaurant and bar dehors and discotheques.

All tables are supplied with low or high stools (45 and 75 cm) with a steel base upholstered in leather, eco-leather or Alcantara as per customers’ preferences in style and colour.

Africa Collection

Tiger Table

Having lunch with a tiger resting at your feet could be just a little worrying but Opacmare’s Tiger Table, from  the new home design collection, will leave you feeling perfectly at ease.

The table’s spectacular stainless steel carved base, formed with four intersecting plates, depicts the face of a roaring tiger: the design is perfectly visible from all angles and beautifully enhances the oval transparent glass top which easily accommodates up to ten guests.

The Tiger Table is but the first to debut from the Africa collection, revealing Sandrine Thibaud’s attraction to the African Continent: soon to be followed by the Baobab Table, which recaptures the intersecting branches and majesty of this secular tree native to the Savannah and the Mother Africa Table, with a base portraying an ardent feminine face

A distinctive table, exquisite and majestic, well suited to spacious environments.

A large oval 10 mm thick glass top rests on four 10 mm plates of carved stainless steel depicting the face of a tiger. The glass top may have either two or three (Ø 28 cm) holes along its diameter, those nearest the edges to hold thermal containers while the one in the middle can be used to accommodate flowers or simply become a decorative part of the top.

Each double walled Plexiglas glacette accommodates an ice bucket with handle. The air chamber formed between the two containers helps to maintain an ideal temperature for longer and eliminates the usual inconvenient drips of condensation.

This table can be accompanied by contemporary style seats in stainless steel upholstered in leather, eco-leather, Alcantara or zebra printed fabric.
