ATTIVI PER UN AMBIENTE MIGLIORE CHI SIAMO

Il nostro Gruppo è leader nella produzione e nella commercializzazione di lastre in porcellanato superiore e ceramica tecnica da pavimentazione e rivestimento. Per mantenere e rafforzare questo primato abbiamo scelto la strada più dif? cile della innovazione nei prodotti e nei processi, curando di interpretare fedelmente le nuove sensibilità del costruire. Da oltre 10 anni, quindi, la nostra ricerca ed i nostri sforzi sono stati polarizzati sulla ecocompatibilità e sulla ecosostenibilità, vale a dire sulle grandi s? de che coinvolgono il mondo dell’architettura.

Ecco quindi: la certi? cazione EMAS dei processi produttivi; le certi? cazioni BREEAM e LEED di molti nostri materiali; la “Costruzione” in fabbrica di pietre naturali.

Ma non solo; siamo andati oltre. Nei nostri laboratori abbiamo messo a punto un materiale che, oltre ad essere ecocompatibile, è anche in grado di interagire con l’ambiente, riducendo l’inquinamento atmosferico ed eliminando alcuni fra i batteri più pericolosi per la salute dell’uomo (domanda di brevetto PCT/IB 2009/006002).

Di questo materiale rivoluzionario, che abbiamo chiamato ACTIVE Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic™, è detto nelle pagine che seguono.

MENO INQUINAMENTO

Le lastre ACTIVE per pavimenti e rivestimenti sono in grado di ridurre signi?cativamente gli effetti nocivi dei principali inquinanti atmosferici (CO-NOx-SOx-VOC). E di eliminare, in modo pressoché totale, alcuni pericolosissimi batteri. Queste caratteristiche sono state autorevolmente attestate, sia dal Tile Council of North America (TCNA), sia dal Centro Ceramico Bologna (in ultima pagina, l’originale degli attestati).

Con ACTIVE la “ceramica” si arricchisce della eccezionale proprietà di interagire con l’ambiente, contribuendo a puri?care l’aria che respiriamo e annullare la carica batterica presente nei pavimenti e nei rivestimenti degli ambienti in cui viviamo. Evolve cioè in un materiale attivo, capace di rendere più vivibile e salubre l’ambiente che ci circonda.

IL POTERE DELLA LUCE

In presenza di una fonte luminosa, naturale o arti?ciale, il biossido di titanio (TiO 2 ), ?ssato sulle lastre ACTIVE a temperatura elevata ed in particelle micrometriche, sviluppa una forte azione antinquinante e battericida, attraverso il processo naturale della fotocatalisi.

La riduzione dell’inquinamento atmosferico e l’azione battericida del TiO 2 sono largamente documentate e unanimemente riconosciute dalla comunità scienti?ca; ed esaltate dall’esclusivo processo produttivo utilizzato per ?ssare le particelle sulle lastre. Processo che è immune da qualsiasi pericolo per gli addetti alla produzione e per gli utilizzatori.

CITTÀ PULITE

Ai tradizionali pregi estetici e di resistenza tipici dei materiali fabbricati nei nostri stabilimenti, le lastre ACTIVE acquistano decisive proprietà antinquinanti e antibatteriche.

I rivestimenti esterni realizzati con lastre ACTIVE sono inoltre repellenti allo sporco perché la fotocatalisi inibisce allo smog di aderire su di esse, eliminando in pratica la necessità di ricorrere a detersivi; con conseguente, ulteriore, effetto antinquinante. Una semplice passata d’acqua, la pioggia sulla parete, e tutto scivola via! Le lastre ACTIVE possiedono in?ne alcune proprietà contigue, ad esempio, una signi?cativa riduzione degli odori, come risultato della eliminazione dei germi.

VIVERE NEL VERDE

Sulla riduzione degli ossidi di azoto (NOx), si stima che una super?cie di 1000 m2 di ACTIVE, illuminata dal sole, abbia un effetto pari a quello di 20 alberi di alto fusto. E che un rivestimento, o un pavimento, di 25 m in ACTIVE, illuminato, oltre ad eliminare quasi totalmente i batteri che si posano su di esso, sia in grado di ridurre sensibilmente gli inquinanti presenti nell’aria, al pari di una pianta di medie dimensioni radicata al centro della super?cie.2

IGIENE SICURA

I test effettuati sulle lastre ACTIVE, ne garantiscono l’impiego nei rivestimenti esterni e nei pavimenti e rivestimenti per interni, anche di locali pubblici a traf?co intenso.

Per le loro proprietà, le lastre ACTIVE, illuminate, sono particolarmente adatte per tutte le abitazioni, i centri wellness, gli alberghi, i ristoranti, le palestre, le scuole, le cliniche, i laboratori, gli ospedali, ecc. Cioè per tutti gli spazi e gli ambienti per i quali sono richiesti standard elevati di pulizia, salubrità ed igiene.

ACTIVE FOR A BETTER ENVIRONMENT ABOUT US

Our Group is a leader in the production and sale of superior porcelain stoneware and technical ceramic slabs for ? oors and walls. To maintain and reinforce this primacy, we have chosen the most dif? cult route of innovation in products and processes, seeking to faithfully interpret new building sensitivities. For over ten years, we focused our research efforts on eco-compatibility and on eco-sustainability, in other words on the great challenges involving the world of quality architecture.

This means: the EMAS production process certi? cation; the BREEAM and LEED certi? cations of many of our materials; the “construction” of natural stones in the plant.

But we’ve gone even further. In our laboratories we have set up a product that can actively interact with the environment, reducing atmospheric pollution and eliminating some of the most dangerous bacterial strains for human health (patent pending: PCT/IB 2009/006002).

This revolutionary material, which we have called ACTIVE Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic™, is described in the following pages.

LESS POLLUTION

The ACTIVE slabs used for ?oors and walls can signi?cantly reduce the harmful effects of the main atmospheric pollutants (CO-NOx-SOx-VOC). Moreover, they can almost completely eliminate some of the most dangerous bacteria for human health. These characteristics have been certi?ed both by the Tile Council of North America (TCNA), and the Centro Ceramico Bologna (Bologna Ceramics Centre). The original copies are included at the end of this document.

With ACTIVE the “ceramic” is enriched with the exceptional property of interacting with the environment, contributing to purify the air that we breathe and eliminating the bacterial load in the ?oors and walls of the rooms where we live. In other words it becomes an active material, able to make the environment surrounding us healthier and more liveable.

THE POWER OF LIGHT

In the presence of any natural or arti?cial light source, the titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ), through the ?ssion on ACTIVE slabs at high temperatures of micrometric particles, develops a strong anti-pollution and bactericidal action, through the natural photocatalysis process.

The reduction of atmospheric pollution and the bactericidal action of the TiO 2 are fully documented and unanimously recognised by the scienti?c community, exalted by the exclusive production method used to ?x the particles onto the slabs. This method is free from any danger for production operators and users.

CLEAN CITIES

As well as the traditional aesthetic and resistance qualities of the materials made in our plants, ACTIVE slabs also acquire clear anti-pollution and anti-bacterial properties.

Outdoor coverings made with ACTIVE slabs are dirt repellent, as photocatalysis prevents smog from settling on them. This practically eliminates the need to use detergents, which is yet another anti-pollution effect. A simple wipe with water, just rain on the wall, and the dirt slips away! Finally, ACTIVE surfaces have derived properties, such as signi?cant reduction in smells, as a result of the elimination of bacteria.

LIVE GREEN

On the reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx), it is estimated that 1.000 m22 surface area of ACTIVE, radiated by sunlight, has an effect equal to that of 20 timber trees. A 25 m wall and/or ?oor in ACTIVE, properly lit, in addition to almost totally eliminating the bacteria that rest on it, is able to substantially reduce the pollutants present in the air, to the same extent as an average sized tree planted in the middle of the same surface.

HYGIENICALLY SAFE

Tests performed on ACTIVE slabs guarantee their use both for outdoor coatings and for indoor ?oors and walls. They can also be used for public buildings with intensive traf?c.

Thanks to their properties, ACTIVE slabs, properly lit, are particularly suitable for use in all homes, in wellness centres, hotels, restaurants, gyms, schools, health centres, laboratories, hospitals, etc. That is in all areas and environments where high levels of cleanliness and hygiene are required.
